Reflecting on the First Pretty Skin Bitch Meetup: Authentic Conversations and New Connections

Pretty Skin Bitch held its first meetup on May 3rd, and it was a powerful gathering at The Zebra Zen Den inside Esty Skin Studio. We enjoyed healthy bites, delicious scones, and marshmallow root spritzers while engaging in vulnerable, authentic conversations about mental health. Creating a safe and open environment where women could share their past traumas is a value that is very important to us, and it felt like we truly achieved that space last night.

Many of the women who attended had never met each other before, and it was incredible to see everyone connecting with such ease. I'm grateful to those who joined us and shared their stories, helping to foster an environment of trust and support. I'm already looking forward to the next meetup in June.

During our discussions, one of the ideas that stood out was the importance of feeling seen and appreciated simply for existing. We recognized that eye contact, when made with intention, can convey a thousand unspoken words. It serves as a powerful reminder that we're present and valued.

Let’s challenge ourselves to make longer, more meaningful eye contact with others, especially fellow women. Instead of sizing each other up or comparing ourselves to one another, let's genuinely acknowledge each other by gazing into each other's eyes. In this simple act, we can replace superficial judgments with deeper connections that convey solidarity and acceptance.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this memorable evening, and we can't wait to continue these beautiful conversations in June!
